Welcome to the Lancaster City Quiz League website.

The Lancaster City Quiz League started in 1969 and currently comprises 34 teams.

They are divided into 3 divisions and play each other on a "home and away" basis. Matches are held at 8.30 each Monday night from September to May.

End of Season Social:
This year's End of Season Social will be held at Lancaster Railway Club on Friday, 7th June 2019. Proceedings will begin promptly at 8pm. Prizes will be presented to all winners and runners-up. League Trophies and individual trophies will also be presented to the winning teams.
This season's League winners are Boot & Shoe B; Brown Cow and White Cross. The Cups' winners are Boot & Shoe B and Gregson B.
Runners-up are Gregson A, Golden Ball (Snatchems), Lord Nelson, Three Mariners B and Boot & Shoe A.
Please be aware that this event is open to all LCQL players.

2019 AGM:
The 2019 AGM will be held at Lancaster Cricket & Social Club on Monday, 10th June 2019. Proceedings will begin promptly at 8pm.
Please note that you only have until the 20th May 2019 to submit nominations and motions for the AGM but teams still have until the day of the AGM to register for next season. The minutes of the last AGM can be accessed via the 2018 AGM link on the main menu. More information will be posted on the website, as it becomes available.

Before setting a quiz, all question setters are requested to read the guidelines carefully and follow them. They have been put together by experienced players and setters and are designed to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable evening. In particular, adhere to the advice about the breadth of the rounds you set and keep the subject-matter general rather than narrowly focussed. If you would like any help or advice please contact a member of the committee.

Players Wanted: - The Committee are aware that some teams continue to find it very difficult to recruit players to enable them to field full teams every Monday night.
