Welcome to the Lancaster City Quiz League website.
The Lancaster City Quiz League started in 1969 and currently comprises 28 teams.
They are divided into 3 divisions and play each other on a "home and away" basis. Matches are held at 8.30 each Monday night from September to May.
Very Recent Important News -
UPDATE: Please note that The Golden Lion weekday opening time is 3pm NOT 2pm, as currently shown on internet searches. The Contacts page has been updated, Saturday and Sunday opening times remain unchanged.This was confirmed by the landlord.
Division 1 - SKERTON LIBERAL CLUB HAVE LEFT THE LEAGUE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. Please note that its result/walkovers have now been removed from the Division 1 table, in line with League precedent.
Division 1 - George and Dragon A has left the League.
Division 3 - Lancaster Railway Club has left the League.
Division 2 - It has become necessary for Golden Lion A to move temporarily to the Corner House, New Street/Church Street, Lancaster. With immediate effect.

New team for 2024-25: - Coffeys, 145 Lancaster Road, Morecambe, LA4 5QJ. This team will play in Division 3 next season. As the landlord is opening specially for its home match nights, visiting teams should not arrive before 8pm

Before setting a quiz, all question setters are requested to read the guidelines carefully and follow them. They have been put together by experienced players and setters and are designed to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable evening. In particular, adhere to the advice about the breadth of the rounds you set and keep the subject-matter general rather than narrowly focussed. If you would like any help or advice please contact a member of the committee.

Players Wanted: - The Committee are aware that some teams continue to find it very difficult to recruit players to enable them to field full teams every Monday night.
